Sipi Falls & Pian Upe

2 days Sipi falls & Pian upe

See Nature in a New Way

Sipi falls is a series of three waterfalls in eastern Uganda in the district of kapchorwa northeast of Sironko and mbale. The waterfalls lie on the edge of mountain Elgon national park near the Kenya border. Sipi falls is a nice place to unwind, relax and literally chill out away from the hustle and bustle of the towns and cities. Hikes around the falls offer stunning views of the Karamoja plains, lake Kyoga and slopes of mt Elgon. The Sipi falls area is particularly famous for locally grown Bugisu. Arabica Coffee Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve is worth a one-day visit on your way from Sipi Falls. Pian Upe is Uganda’s second largest protected area bordering various mountain ranges and water bodies. This makes it a birding hotspot, home to endemic wildlife species like the Roan Antelope and archeological site for rock paintings.
